Mr Keith Liddell – Non Executive Chairman Mr Liddell is a highly experienced resource company manager, having worked exclusively in the minerals industry for over 24 years. His technical expertise includes engineering of plant and equipment, process development, project management and risk planning. He has particular experience with the development of resource projects for platinum group metals, base metals, gold, diamonds and industrial minerals, and holds a number of patents in his name. Mr Liddell has extensive experience in the management of resource companies, including the formulation and implementation of corporate strategy, managing key stakeholder relationships and arranging corporate and project finance. Mr Liddell was the co-founder of Mineral Securities Limited (ASX: MSX) and was formerly the Managing Director of Aquarius Platinum Limited (“Aquarius”), which during his tenure successfully acquired, financed and developed two platinum projects in South Africa. This positioned Aquarius as the only new entrant ever to successfully penetrate the South African platinum mining industry with a greenfields development. Mr Liddell is Executive Chairman of Mineral Securities Limited, Executive Director of Tianshan Goldfields Limited (ASX: TGF) and Non Executive Director of Ivanhoe Nickel and Platinum Limited. Mr Brian Rear – Managing Director Mr Rear has 38 years of technical, managerial and corporate development experience in the mineral resource industry, covering Australia, New Guinea, United Kingdom, Europe, South Africa, and Indonesia with a wide range of successful resource companies including CRA, Rio Tinto Consultants, Barrack Mines and Anglovaal. Mr Rear’s extensive experience covers gold, base metals, uranium, thermal coal, and industrial minerals. Mr Rear has been instrumental in defining the model for the profitable development of stand-alone heap leach copper projects in Australia. Mr Rear is a graduate of the Western Australian School of Mines in metallurgy (AWASM) and also a graduate of the Royal School of Mines London, holding a Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) and an MSc (Lon) in mineral process design from the University of London. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of South Africa's School of Business Leadership. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD). Mr Rear is one of the founders of Straits Resources Limited (“Straits”); an ASX listed company, and held the position of CEO and Director from its inception in 1991 through to mid 2002. During this period he oversaw the development of the company from inception to a producing mining company with an asset base over A$220 million, and revenue in 2001 of A$140 million. During his time with Straits the company successfully financed and developed two greenfield projects, Girilambone Copper and sebuku Coal and effected the turn-around of a significant copper project acquired from Western Mining Corporation Limited. Mr Rear is currently Non Executive Chairman of South Boulder Mines Limited and Zambezi Resources Limited and Non Executive Director of Copper Range Limited. Mr Richard Basham – Non Executive Director Mr Basham is Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia and Affiliate of the Securities Institute of Australia. Mr Basham was the former Managing Partner of the Perth office of Grant Thornton, an international firm of chartered accountants. Mr Basham has extensive financial and business consulting experience in the private sector. Mr Basham currently holds several directorships of large private organisations including Health Services Australia. Hon. John Moore AO – Non Executive Director Hon. John Moore AO holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Associate in Accountancy from the University of Queensland. John has had a distinguished career in politics; he was the Minister for Defence, the Minister for Industry, Science & Tourism and Vice President of the Executive Council. Prior to entering politics, John was a stockbroker and member of the Brisbane Stock Exchange for 12 years. He has served on the boards of many broking and banking related companies including Citinational Limited, Merrill Lynch (Aust) Pty Ltd and Grindlays (Aust) Pty Ltd. John also serves on the board of Herencia Resources Plc as Non-Executive Director, is Deputy Non-Executive Chairman of Mineral Securities Limited and is Chairman of Australian Wine and Brandy Corp. Mr Peter Patrikeos – Non Executive Director Mr. Patrikeos is a barrister and solicitor, who during 40 years of legal practice has held senior legal positions within the Western Australian Government and has represented corporations both in private practice and as a senior internal counsel. For nine years to 1997, Peter was a partner in the national law firm, Freehills (formerly Freehill Hollingdale & Page). He serves on the board of St John of God Health Care as Deputy Chairman, and is a Director of Packer & Co Ltd. |
